Alabama’s “Best Male Jazz Artist 2016” Releasing A New Single

Tuscaloosa native, Cashmere Williams, has emerged after a six-year hiatus

with a new single titled “Step.” The song features Cashmere’s signature

smooth sound, incorporating vocals with a positive message. Describing

his sound as Gospel/Jazz, he went back to his roots where he mastered

the art of guitar. After touring three years with American Idol winner

Ruben Studdard, he took a break to raise his daughter, Harmonie, while playing

the occasional local/regional gig. In 2010, he released “New Birth,” a

dedication to his daughter, that received rave reviews and was featured on

the “Smooth Jazz Charts” for several months.

Recently, his fans honored

him by nominating him for “Best Male Jazz Artist 2016.”
